At the time of the new birth, we received God’s gift of holy spirit. This inherent ability gives us the power to prosper in every category of life—spiritually, mentally, and physically.
Spiritually, we are complete. We have been given all the enablements to live powerfully and abundantly. The next step is to manifest this completeness. The operation of the gift of holy spirit in every born-again believer is the key to unleashing potential power. The gift of holy spirit has nine manifestations which are set forth in I Corinthians 12.
I Corinthians 12:7-10:
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues.
God wills these manifestations to be shown forth in every believer according to his believing. When we operate these manifestations, we begin to evidence some of our God-given power. Like the Apostle Paul, we can demonstrate God’s spiritual power.
I Corinthians 2:4:
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.
Since we are spiritually complete, having Christ in us, we also have the mind of Christ. We can have mental wholeness and prosper mentally.
I Corinthians 2:16:
...we have the mind of Christ.
Philippians 2:5:
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.
To have the thoughts of Christ Jesus, we need to learn what his thoughts were by reading God’s Word. Then we can put those thoughts of truth and power into our minds, and the Word can make us whole in our soul life, which includes our mind and heart.
James 1:21:
...receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save [make whole] your souls.
III John :2:
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
We can have whole, sound thoughts.
II Timothy 1:7:
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Because we have potential power within us, and we have thoughts that are whole, we prosper spiritually and mentally. God has also made it available for us to prosper physically—having sufficiency in all things—when we claim the promises in His Word.
II Corinthians 9:8:
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
II Corinthians 3:5:
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
Philippians 4:19:
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
God expects us to prosper. And prosperity—in all its forms—is dependent upon our believing God’s Word and continuing in it.
We can enjoy our power to prosper in every category of life
by believing God’s Word and continuing in it.
Let’s claim God’s promise that He is able to do exceeding abundantly above
all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. |
