I John 4:16:
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
And the love that God has for us is unconditional. He loves the “unlovable.” His love continues toward us when we make mistakes. God even loved us before we loved Him.
I John 4:10:
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Romans 5:8:
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
When a person is born again and receives holy spirit from God, that person receives God’s own love nature. God’s love dwells within the born-again believer. Therefore, as God’s children, we have the power to love—to love God, to love ourselves, and to share God’s love with one another.
I John 4:11,12:
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
We are to love by God’s standards, which is according to His Word. Loving by these standards means we imitate God, loving as He loves.
Romans 12:9:
Let love be without dissimulation [without hypocrisy]....
I Corinthians 13:4-8:
Charity [the love of God] suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Charity never faileth....
Ephesians 4:32:
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
We have the power to share God’s love with one another.
Galatians 6:1,2:
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
And what is the law of Christ that we can fulfill?
John 13:34:
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
Jesus Christ loved and restored men and women with the wonderful love of God.
God’s love is so great that nothing is strong enough to separate us from it.
Romans 8:37-39:
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God loved us before we loved Him. And as born-again believers, His love dwells in us. And that enables us to have the power to love. God gave us His Word to show us the standards by which to love. Jesus Christ gave us the example of how to love.
John 15:11,12:
These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Since nothing can separate us from that love of God,
let us love one another.
As Jesus Christ told his disciples, it is a joy to do so! |
