Our Power to Live
More Abundantly
God Almighty, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, has given all that men and women need to live abundantly.  God sent His only begotten Son to make this abundant life available—that men and women could be saved, have everlasting life, and be His sons and daughters, born again of incorruptible seed.

John 3:17:
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

John 6:40:
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life:  and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 10:10:
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:  I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Galatians 4:4-7:
But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

I Peter 1:23:

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

When we were born physically, we had physical seed in us.  When we are born again, we receive another seed.  The difference is that with the second birth, the seed is incorruptible.

How does one get born again and receive this incorruptible seed?

Romans 10:9,10:
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Once a person confesses with his mouth Jesus as lord and believes in his heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, that person is converted, saved, born again.  He is no longer a natural man because he has received incorruptible seed, the gift of holy spirit from God.  God gives one gift to a receiving believer, but this one gift has nine parts or manifestations.

I Corinthians 12:7-10:
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues.

The Book of Acts and the Church Epistles make many references to the power of holy spirit as well as to the demonstration of that power, which the men and women of God at that time knew they had.  This power is as readily available to born-again believers in our times as it was in theirs.

Acts 1:8:
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:  and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

I Corinthians 2:4,5:
And my [Paul’s] speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Ephesians 1:19,20:
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places.

If we are going to demonstrate the power which Jesus Christ came to make available, it is needful to study God’s Word and to evidence the nine manifestations of holy spirit.

Ephesians 3:20:
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

As born-again believers, God's power works in us
so that we can manifest the more abundant life.
And in that ability is the power to serve,
helping others receive God's power to live more abundantly too!
