Our Power in God’s Protection
As we in the United States of America pause to remember and honor those who have served in our country’s military, we are thankful for God’s protection over those now serving on active duty.  It is a great comfort to know that He will protect our men and women; He has given them the power to triumph in every situation.  They can claim God’s protection for themselves and their fellowsoldiers at every turn.

This is true for all of God’s children.  As our Father, God desires the best for us and will never leave us alone or unprotected.

Hebrews 13:5:
...for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Colossians 2:10:
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.

Let us consider some of the beautiful ways God has described His protection for His people:

Psalms 27:1,3:
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear:  though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

Psalms 28:7:

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped:   therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

Psalms 36:7:
How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God!  therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

Psalms 57:1:
Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me:  for my soul trusteth in thee:  yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

Psalms 61:1-4:
Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed:  lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever:  I will trust in the covert of thy wings.  Selah.

Psalms 62:5-8:
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation:  he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
In God is my salvation and my glory:  the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him:  God is a refuge for us.  Selah.

Psalms 84:11:
For the Lord God is a sun and shield:  the Lord will give grace and glory:  no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Psalms 91:1-4:
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress:  my God; in him will I trust.
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust:  his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Psalms 94:22:
But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

As we confess the power of His protection that is available to us, as we believe what God says in His Word, His Word becomes a reality in our lives.  For the born-again believer, there is no other power that can touch us when we believe God’s Word.  Our heavenly Father is a God Who so loves that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, for our redemption.  And Jesus Christ declared “In the world ye shall have tribulation:  but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33).

Let’s claim God’s protection in every facet of our lives
by walking out on God’s Word,
knowing we are more than conquerors in every situation.

Romans 8:31,37:
What shall we then say to these things?
If God be for us, who can be against us?
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors
through him that loved us.

II Corinthians 2:14:
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ,
and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

That’s our power in God’s protection!
