God’s Kids Share the Word with Others

Kids make moving the Word so simple. As children learn God’s Word from their parents, they love to share it with others as the opportunity arises. We can learn from their example of speaking the Word with boldness. A child’s love for the Word is developed as the parents teach and live the Word.

Deuteronomy 6:7:
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Parents share God’s Word with their children when they are at home, when they are out, when they go to bed, and when they rise up; and their children learn how to speak it and live it around others.

On a particular day, a mother I know took her four-year-old daughter to the park to play, and the mom wanted to speak the Word to a new person. Although she didn’t tell her daughter that, her daughter had the same idea when she said, “Mom, can we talk to someone who wants to believe God like we do and invite them to fellowship?” And they did!

Another mom shared this with me about her son: he couldn’t wait to turn twelve because he would be eligible for the foundational class on The Way of Abundance and Power. Right after he completed the class, one of his school friends asked him a specific question about Noah and if it was true about the flood. Well, this young graduate was able to tell him the truth—“Yes, it’s true; the flood really happened. It’s in the Bible!”—and his friend and his friend’s mom began attending fellowship. It wasn’t long after that when both the friend and his mom sat through the Foundational Class too!

Here’s another example of a young man who loves God’s Word. While participating with his parents in our ministry’s outreach program, he asked, “Mom, can I take my Bible to school to read it during recess?” His mother replied, “Yes, son; yes, you can!” He knew this would be a great way to share God’s Word.

As children are diligently taught God’s Word and see the Word being lived, it’s relatively easy for them to speak God’s Word. I heard one little girl say to her school friend, “Would you like to come to my parents’ fellowship? We can teach you how to pray to God.” It was wonderful to see how this child knew Who to pray to since she had heard people praying this way countless times during Bible fellowship meetings. She knew we pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ. By making this truth available to her friend, she was being an ambassador for Christ. Her friend ended up coming to Bible fellowship and enjoyed learning how to pray too.

II Corinthians 5:20:
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

Children not only speak God’s Word with ease, they also encourage others to speak God’s Word. One father had his little girl on his back enjoying a “piggyback ride” while out for a walk. He noticed a woman out walking her dog and began asking questions about her dog. Well, his daughter gave him a couple of nudges and said, “Daddy, witness to her! Witness to her!” He appreciated his daughter’s idea, and he then spoke words of life to this lady instead of just making small talk about her dog.

A three-year-old boy once said, “Mom, you can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth you!” (Philippians 4:13). He knew that scripture and liked to use it frequently when they were out witnessing. One cold and snowy day, he encouraged the whole household with this verse, and as a result, they decided to go out witnessing no matter the weather.

II Timothy 3:14,15:
But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Children are listening to and watching their parents, and they learn to speak the Word just as their parents do. When they see them living and sharing the Word, they want to do it too. We can learn a lot from the sweet things kids say as they share God’s Word with others. They speak that Word with big believing and boldness and move the Word simply. It is wonderful to be able to share God’s Word with children. Look at the blessings when we do. They share it with others!
